Marion Raven

Marion Raven was born to be a star. Her remarkable talent proves that; one who listens to her music falls in love with the passion and emotion she puts into it. Besides writing all of her songs, she lends her talent as a guitar and piano player to her albums, filling them with her heart. As the bird with whom she shares the name, Marion seems dark and mysterious, with heart-broken lyrics in songs like ‘Heads Will Roll’ and ‘Break You’ both successful singles, the former having a sexy video in which Marion appears nude, covered only by her long hair and a guitar. But the Norwegian singer from the small town of Lørenskog shows all of her vulnerability in touching songs like ‘Little By Little’ and ‘For You I’ll Die’, the former showing her sweet side, and the latter being her most emotional song, inspired by the band The Doors.
Ten years ago, Marion and her childhood friend, now pop star in Germany and Austria, Marit Larsen, sold 5 million albums together in the teen-band M2M. Even at 14 years old, Marion already shone both singing and writing. Marion and Marit toured the whole world, but decided to separate to focus on their solo careers. While Marit has dedicated herself to a more pop and folk sound, Marion wants to rock the world.

Marion has released two albums so far: Here I Am, with a major success in Asia and Scandinavia, and Set Me Free, which contains several songs from the previous album and a few new songs. But don’t be fooled: these ‘few new songs’ are upon her most powerful songs, like the romantic power-ballad ‘Thank You’ and the stadium-rock ‘Set Me Free’. Both songs show her multi-talent in writing, singing and playing. The Norwegian singer has worked with many famous and talented rock stars, including Nikki Sixx (Mötley Crüe), Art Alexakis (Everclear) and Chantal Kreviazuk. She’s also worked with pop kings Max Martin and Dr. Luke.
Currently, Marion is finishing her newest album, which only contains new songs. It’s been confirmed that she’s written songs with Daniel Estrin (Hoobastank) and Matt Rowe, who’s worked with her on the first M2M record. The titles of the new songs have been released, and they show that Marion is as powerful as ever, with songs like ‘Backstabbing Bitch’, ‘Blackbird’ and ‘We Are Dead’.
